The curriculum outline is designed to graduate students
with competencies needed to become
an entry-level MT are based on the AAMT Model Curriculum as
follows:
1) The English Proficiency
Competency requires that students be able to apply
rules of proper grammar, punctuation,
spelling, and logical sentence structure, presented in MT
English format based on the AAMT Book
of Style. In addition, students must be able to acquire information
through the use of references. Students
are further exposed to editing and proofreading, as well
as various English and foreign accents.

2) The Medical Knowledge Competency requires
students to have in-depth knowledge on subjects which are
presented in introductory and 12 specialty modules:

3) The Business Technology Competency requires
students to be able to operate various transcription equipment
and to have a knowledge of additional business equipment.
Understanding of technology trends
and developments is also recommended, such as maintenance,
and ergonomics and occupational health.

4) The Healthcare Documentation Competency
requires students to fully understand the format, style, content,
purpose, and legal aspects of various health records.

5) The Professional Practice Competency
emphasizes professional and ethical conduct and the application
of knowledge and skills needed to
be an MT.

6) The final section of your entire course proper
is the practical application of your course where you experience
real live voice files within an office setting. The advantage
